The MHCHS manages 229 Seniors Self-Contained units in seven buildings throughout Medicine Hat and Redcliff. This program offers apartments in both high-rise and low-rise accessible buildings.

Seniors Self-Contained Housing falls under the Social Housing Programs and rent is generally based on 30% of the household’s total combined income.

While heat, water, waste removal, and sewer costs are included in the rental fees, tenants are responsible for the electricity expense, and such items as cable and internet services. Tenants are able to enjoy reduced cable rates through negotiated agreements with the cable provider.
