Mission: To support and inspire closer relationships between people and the natural world around us. Our team of volunteers, staff and partners work together to foster environmental awareness and leadership.
Programs Offered:
- Kids & Youth Programs
- Big Bird Little Bird: Children (ages 2-5) and adults discover all that nature has to offer through fun activities, crafts and games
- Junior Naturalists Club: Kids (ages 6-10) explore nature themes through fun, games and discovery
- Extreme by Nature: Youth (ages 11-15) appreciate our natural environment and ways to protect it with hands-on adventures
- Coulees & Culture Day Camp: Kids (ages 6-10) discover cultural, historical, and natural treasures of Lethbridge at a new venue each day
- Trailblazers: Kids (ages 6-10) get outside and explore this summer! New topics are offered throughout July and August
- Run Wild Day Camp: Kids (ages 6-10) get outside with nature based games and activities designed to burn off energy
- Family Programs
- Family Field Trips: Join one of the education staff and discover some of the amazing plants and animals found right here in Lethbridge
- choose from one of the following topics for your 1 hour private tour:
- Cottonwood Forest - discover the only native tree species found in Lethbridge. Explore some of the creatures that depend on this cottonwood forest
- Birds, Birds, Birds- the river valley is home to many different birds, some that stay year round and some that are hear for part of the year. Discover the amazing birds that can be found right here in Lethbridge
- Animal Tracking - Have you ever wondered what animals are in your neighborhood? Discover more about our wild neighbors through reading animal tracks and signs
- Cost: $35/hour, maximum 10 people, programs takes place entirely outdoors

- Indoor Experience:
- Main Exhibit Gallery: The Nature Centre's Main Exhibit Gallery features interactive exhibitions based on seasonal themes. Exhibits are designed to be hands-on and interactive.
- Community Art Gallery: Our Community Art Gallery showcases nature, science, and environmentally-themed exhibitions. This space promotes the work of local artists who draw inspiration from the area’s natural features. Exhibitions generally run 6-8 weeks.
- River Valley Exhibit: This foundational exhibit will help you understand the diversity of life our region supports! It will help you learn about Lethbridge's unique environments – from the grassland prairie, to the coulees, to the cottonwood forest, and the Oldman River.
- Alberta Real Estate Foundation Prairie Living Roof: Enjoy the view from the Alberta Real Estate Foundation Prairie Living Roof – learn about prairie plants and discover the diversity of Southern Alberta's grasslands!
- Outdoor Experience
- Several trail maps are available inside of the nature center that provide guided walks with sightseeing opportunities
- ‘Listen’ Public Art: Located west of the Nature Centre parking lot, 'Listen' creates a moment for visitors to stop and focus. It's structure echoes the natural, wedge-shaped contours of the coulee slopes, as well as the architectural forms in the High Level Bridge.
